With extensive experience in intelligence and security, Eric has held pivotal roles across multiple organizations. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Global Intelligence at Everbridge, where he was brought back as a “boomerang Bridger” to lead the company’s pivot to AI-assisted intelligence. In this role, he managed a globally distributed team of 100 intelligence analysts across the US, UK, Singapore, and Hungary, operating 24/7/365.

Prior to Everbridge, Eric was the Vice President, Solutions Evangelist at Ontic, where he leveraged his decades of experience and passion for intelligence and security missions to shape product vision, identify emerging use cases, and drive platform adoption. His leadership journey also includes significant roles such as Senior Director of Global Intelligence and Analysis at Everbridge, Senior Vice President of Commercial Solutions at PlanetRisk, Inc., and Vice President of Global Intelligence at iJET International, where he consistently supported strategic decisions and drove operational success.

Beyond his professional achievements, Eric is a dedicated husband and father of two. His daughter is passionate about flamenco and singing, while his son is enthusiastic about geography, lacrosse, and basketball. As Eric and his family prepare for their upcoming move to Sydney, Australia, in late 2024, his mission remains steadfast: to protect people, inform decision-makers, and help organizations thrive through high-quality decisions. Decode Risk Methodology

When I began my journey as an analyst, and throughout my career, I relied heavily on the principles of the "intelligence cycle" to guide my work, enhance my skills, and help my teams deliver more insightful and actionable products. The intelligence cycle has long been a cornerstone of our craft, offering a structured methodology that ensures consistency, accuracy, and relevance in the intelligence we produce.

Few tools are as foundational and impactful as the intelligence cycle. It provides a clear framework for transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive decision-making at the highest levels. However, as our world evolves, so too must the tools we use. The evolution of the intelligence cycle is not just a mild revision; it enhances the clarity and effectiveness of the concepts behind it, making the framework more powerful and relevant for today's complex information landscape.

  • We emphasize definition over traditional "planning" at this stage. The term "Define" puts a greater focus on precision. Here, we explicitly define the key questions that need to be answered, identify the decision-makers and their preferences for receiving the final product, and establish clear expectations. We also delineate the scope of our inquiry, specifying what is out of scope and from where we intend to collect data. This precise definition ensures a focused approach, while remaining adaptable as we explore further (see "Explore").

  • We prefer "Explore" over the traditional "Collect" because it embodies a proactive and inquisitive approach, as opposed to the passive accumulation implied by "Collect." "Explore" emphasizes actively seeking out information with an organic, flexible approach. While "Define" requires an explicit collection plan, "Explore" encourages adaptability and curiosity, allowing us to adjust our methods if the data gathered is insufficient or unsuitable for the problem at hand.

  • We thoughtfully compile data, organizing and structuring it to ensure that it’s ready for in-depth analysis. This step addresses any gaps and prepares the data for the next phase.


  • Our analysis is deliberately objective, free from bias, and rooted in evidence. This ensures that our conclusions are both accurate and reliable.


  • We don’t just disseminate information—we deliver it. Our focus is on providing intelligence in a clear, actionable format tailored to the needs of decision-makers.


  • Continuous improvement is at our core. We evaluate both the process and the outcomes, ensuring that our intelligence products remain effective and relevant.
